Q. How do I borrow a book?
1. Find the book you are looking for.
2. Choose the borrowing period.
3. Fill all your personal information, and don’t forget to check the term and condition, then you will receive the book in 2 days.
Q. How long can I borrow books?
Maximum 2 months.
Q. How many books can I check out at once?
You can borrow only one book every time, and when you send the book back you can borrow another one.
Q. What books can I borrow? How can I find them?
The easiest way to find books to borrow is to jump straight to the book language categories, which shows books that available in our website. You can also use the search option and find your book directly, or press on the writer name and see the entire books for the same writer.
Q. Can I return a library book early?
Yes you can always send the book back when you finish from it.
Q. Can I put a book on hold?
You have to contact us at info@emesaembassy.com and we could organize this for you if the book is available.
Q. Can I renew books online? How many times I can renew books?
Standard loan books (8 weeks loan) and you can contact us to renew the book, as long as the book is not reserved by another person. BUT you should contact us before the 8 weeks is finished.
Q. Is there a cost to borrow books?
No. There is no cost on you to borrow books from us.
If you don’t return the book, you may incur a fee. For more details on overdue and lost items, read our terms and condition, AGB or contact us.
Q. How much are fines for late returned books?
The duration of the loan period is a maximum of 8 Weeks.
The lending date you specify is binding in all cases. If you have not returned the book by this time, we will send you a first reminder (10.-CHF).
If the books are not returned within one week, a second reminder will be raised (15.-CHF)
If you do not return the books within one week after the second reminder, you owe us the full book value, which, depending on the book, between 20CHF- 150CHF.
Q. May I donate books to the library?
Yes, please do! Contact our team through supports us page and the contact person will advise you.
Q. Can I buy books from the library?
No. We don’t have any books to sell, but we provide online links when possible for booksellers that might have the book you want (new or used).
Q. Where is the closest library to visit?
Right now we don’t have an open space for exchange books, so all the borrowing is through the website.
Q. Can you put me in touch with an author?
No. Our library team doesn’t have any specific contact with any of the authors who have a presence on the library so we are unable to help you get in touch with them.
Q. I have a book that I think might be worth something. Can you tell me what it’s worth?
Unfortunately, we cannot. We have no expertise in the valuation of books. You should try to find a website that specializes in used or rare books.
Q. I found a very old book in my basement. Do you want it?
You’re welcome to donate books to our library anytime if it fits our books’ category.
Q. Do you run workshops?
Yes. We schedule workshops for specific units and faculties.
